Cisco, Utah: Cisco Ghost Town

Watering stop for 1880s railroad; bypassed by I-70, and lost its post office in the last decade or so. A dozen buildings, junk, a few residents. Film location for "Vanishing Point" (1971), "Thelma and Louise" (1991).

The post office.

Cisco Ghost Town

Cisco is truly in the middle of nowhere, and it's not what you would think, but it was worth the little side road adventure. The main road that takes you to the ghost town also takes you back out to 15 if you continue straight. We think someone may still live there, since there were satellite dishes on two of the houses. The picture I took is of the post office. Happy exploring!

Abandoned Town of Cisco.

Abandoned Town of Cisco

Cisco is still there, still abandoned, still blowin' in the wind. I saw a maximum of two structures that potentially could have been inhabited, but I didn't see any animals or any other human beings.

Cisco Ghost Town

Feels abandoned, for sure. But curious about the one abode with a camera and satellite dish. The camera could be real or not but it's there...
