Monster Mini Golf

Monster Mini Golf is a chain of monster-themed indoor glow-in-the-dark mini golf courses and amusement centers with arcade and win-tickets-for-trinkets games. Although the arcade part falls somewhere in between Chuck E. Cheese's and Dave & Buster's, it's the kitsch of the blacklit mini golf (which is quite similar to the places that I've been to on the Canada side of Niagara Falls) that I think earns this place a spot on RoadsideAmerica.com. It may be a chain, but it's offbeat fun that merits a visit!

I went to the Jessup, MD location, which has 18 holes of blacklit fun, featuring neon painted creatures and murals including a witch, zombies, Frankenstein (who rises from his platform), an alien that pops out of a barrel and Glo-Zo the clown, whose mouth you shoot into at the end. The course is pretty fast moving, with a couple ramps, a mutant snail topped loop de loop, putt-through haunted towers, tombstone and manhole obstacles, and lots of angles.

My guess is that all off the locations have the same layout, except for the KISS themed location that is due to open this year in Las Vegas according to their web site. That should be interesting!
