I grew up in Mooresville, Indiana in the 1960s and 70s, and my dad took us on monthly forays to Gravity Hill, which was a little easier to find back then because the land wasn't as developed as it is now. The directions are correct, but according to the information given, it only works going east, but that's not so. It works both ways. If you stop in the middle of the valley, and put your car into neutral, it will roll up hill. If you are going towards SR42, the car will coast nearly all the way to 42.
[Gina L., 02/22/2012]Yes, Gravity Hill does exist in Mooresville, Indiana. I live about 25 minutes away. It is not marked at all and with so many hills it will be a task to find the right one. Don't give up though, it's there.
[Sara R., 08/03/2008]The gravity hill in Mooresville is definitely on Keller Hill Road off SR42. I have been there around ten times. I will tell everyone right now that the hill is NOT marked at all. All I can say is you will just have to try the hills. It is approx. a mile in on the road. If you are going away from SR42 it is kind of down in a valley just before a rather large hill and there is a house on the left side and just some trees on the right.
I know it is hard to believe until you have been there once. Trust me, I have had to take numerous people there because they didn't believe me. Good luck!
[Kyle, 03/22/2006]The location of Gravity Hill is on Keller Hill Road, which runs west from SR42 just 1 mile outside of Mooresville, IN. About 1 mile west of the origin at SR42, Keller Hill Road begins to undulate through some "rollers" before actually climbing Keller Hill. While in the middle of these rollers, a driver has an optical illusion that they are going downhill and should be able to coast. However if the car is put into neutral it will tend to slow down or even roll backwards. Thus a mysterious "Magnet" or "Gravity" must be pulling the car. However, there is no downhill section to this rolling stretch of county road -- it's all uphill! Easiest way to be sure, come with me on a bicycle ride up Keller Hill!
[Larry A. Reyman, DVM, 09/15/2003]This is an update on the Gravity Hill supposedly located in Mooresville, IN. I searched in vain this weekend to locate the spot. I asked locals, checked other websites, etc. All leads point to a location south of Mooresville on Keller Hill road. The road is typical of other 'gravity hill' locations: Many hills, some very steep, and almost total absence of the horizon. I drove from one end of the road to the other, and tried many of the hills. No good. I'm not suggesting that it is not here, only that it is not clearly marked. I did notice a street off of Keller Hill road suspiciously named 'Magnetic Acres.' Maybe this is some clue. If anyone has more info on this particular site, I would like to hear about it.
