World's Smallest Church.

Tiny Church of the Mother Road

The tiny church is only a block away from Standing On The Corner. Free, worth a look.

Tiny church.

Located on the left just inside the gate. If gate is closed you can still see the tiny church.

[Nona Fisher, 09/13/2016]

This is one of the least convincing of America's tiny churches, and being locked behind unwelcoming gates doesn't aid its status. But there is a sign proclaiming it as the "World's Smallest Church."

More and more people visit every day.

[Tess Kenna, 11/03/2013]

We hope not too many, or they won't be able to fit inside the self-proclaimed "World's Smallest Church."

Tiny Church of the Mother Road

It really is a two seater church and easy to miss. It's tucked in little plaza in between stores just a few steps from La Posada. I left a donation (or someone will take what they need).

Tiny Church of the Mother Road

Officially this is just the smallest church on Route 66, but it can compete as the smallest church in America. Only 7 x 4.5 feet, it has two benches and an altar and can seat two people and a minister. Built by a family in 2012, with lumber from the historic Skylark Bar (which was torn down at this spot), in memory of Leroy Austin Kenna, a long time Route 66 businessman. Its window is from Winslow's old Mormon church.

[Tess Kenna, 04/29/2012]

It looks like a tiny church that could only exist in a place that doesn't get much rain.
