Harrier Jump Jet on a Stick

In the town of Havelock (close to Cherry Point Marine Base) there is a Harrier Jump Jet on a low pedestal. The English-made Harrier is famous for its ability to take off and land vertically (or on a very short runway). Cherry Point Marine Base is reported to have more Harriers than any other base in the world. Some say that the Harriers are responsible for most of the reported UFO sightings in the area.
