The Sandia Peak Tramway is the longest in the U.S., but it is not the world's longest.

World's Longest Aerial Tramway

Close, but China's Zhangjiajie National Forest has a skyway that is 7.5 km, which is about 4.6 miles.

Not for the faint! Please note they stop running the tram if any "static" or thunder is on the horizon. This means you can be stuck at the top until the storms are over. Up to 2 hours or more.

World's Longest Aerial Tramway

Sandia Peak Tramway is the world's longest aerial tramway, at 2.7 miles with a 10,378 foot elevation at the top of the tram. Go up to Sandia Peak and see 11,000 square miles. It can be much colder and windier at the top from the bottom. Take a heavier jacket than you need at the base that day.
