Chattanooga, Tennessee - World's Largest Alligator Snapping Turtle

The World's Largest Alligator Snapping Turtle is on display at the Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga. While this turtle doesn't appear to have a name, he is the world's largest alligator snapping turtle, tipping the scales at 249 pounds. Alligator snapping turtles are the largest freshwater turtles species in the world are a uniquely American species with a range from Illinois to Florida. [Greg Brown, 02/21/2001]
