Tomball, Texas: Chummy Statue of Thomas Ball and Spike

Congressman Thomas H. Ball brought the railroad through Peck, later renamed Tomball in his honor. He's credited with birthing the wildly successful Port of Houston. Sculpture by Sandra Van Zandt, at the train depot since 2008, includes "Spike the Railroad Dog."
