Morristown, Tennessee: Davy Crockett Replica Tavern
Built in 1958 out of old logs and stones as a replica of the tavern run by John Crockett, Davy's dad. 1958 was the height of Davy Crockett fever in the U.S., thanks to a largely bogus Disney TV show. Historical marker out front.

Closes for the winter season. Opens in May. No time posted for closing. Didn't get to do anything but get photos but the dogwood was blooming, so great shots. Ate at Davy Crockett family restaurant a few blocks away. Very good. Glad we ventured up here.

[Jim Hughes, 07/07/2012]Davy Crockett's parents ran the tavern, built in 1795, and this is considered his boyhood home. The building is a replica outfitted with period artifacts; a nearby gas station sits on the tavern's original site. Note: there's a gift shop, but no bar.
