Shoe Tree I drove past today, and the Shoe Tree is definitely there!
[Anne Beth, 12/06/2008]
Shoe Tree I guess the residents on Six Mile decided they hated the night hour traffic attracted by the Shoe Tree, because someone cut off the two big branches that hung over the road holding all the shoes. Now all you can see is a tree that obviously was cut. I had been there many times, and was finally taking my fiance to see it. [June 2005 - Tipster Gina writes: "Last time we went the tree was gone, cut down, no where to be seen. We even had a resident threaten to call the police on us if we didn't get out of the road."]
[Tara, 06/01/2005]There is a shoe tree at the end of six mile road in salem, michigan. The story goes that a serial killer killed small children and put their shoes on the tree. There are about 500 shoes hanging about 15 or 20 feet from the ground. There is also a sign that says "Shoes .50 cents." It's pretty freaky. I know because I have been there.
