Only Covered Bridge in Minnesota
Minnesota's only remaining original functioning covered bridge is located in the southeastern city of Zumbrota. The Zumbrota Covered Bridge is listed on the National Historic Register, and has been restored to its authentic state, reflecting the heritage of early pioneer settlers. The bridge spans the Zumbro River in the 85-acre Covered Bridge Park. The park is also the trailhead for the Goodhue Pioneer Regional Trail, a multi-modal trail which connects with the cities of Goodhue and Red Wing. This is a cute little town just beyond the corn... Restored buildings and town. Revitalization seems to be happening. Driving through late August afternoon stopped to let the kids stretch their legs and found a street festival just starting.
