[Vicki Stevison, 12/07/2012]Pelicans in Paradise is a public art project organized by the local Pensacola newspaper. Pelican statues made of fiberglass have been decorated by various artists and placed at outdoor locations around downtown. Each of the approximately 60 pelicans is nearly five feet tall, and each sits on a 450-pound cement "perch." There's a pelican doctor, lawyer, pirate, Blue Angel Pilot, and many more.
