Visitor Tips and News About Tombstone Derby
Elmore is a town famous for its headless motorcycle rider, and every October there is a festival held in honor of Halloween where people build mobile coffins to race and parade through town. Another event features retrieving body parts faster than anyone else. Very different.[TL Sturgill, 09/01/2012]
The Headless Motorcyclist is a local ghost who supposedly lost his head on an Elmore bridge and returns to the ghoulish spot once a year. The Tombstone Derby is also once a year, on the Saturday before Halloween, and features drag races between motorized caskets.
