Blenheim Ginger Ale Factory

The Blenheim Ginger Ale plant is right behind South of The Border in Dillon. It's a little hard to find, hidden behind the hotel and beside the new dirt bike track. I don't think they do a lot of tours -- not because they don't want to, but because a lot of people don't know about it. I called and set up an appointment to take my class on a field trip. They were so accommodating. They even changed their bottling times so the kids could get the full experience. We got to walk super close to the machinery, which the kids just thought was the coolest thing in the world. It was really loud, so we couldn't really hear what the workers were saying to us, but that's okay. Rough sign language worked just fine. At the end of the tour, the workers (all five of them) let everyone try as much of each flavor as we wanted. They also gave us all t-shirts. I take a lot of factory tours across the U.S., and this has to be one of the more unique ones I have done. It was so small and raw. So much fun.
