A small plaza near Herrmann Park is dedicated to cancer survival. This statues by Victor Salmones depict different phases of cancer treatment, from fear to determination to hope and finally to success.

Bankrolled by billionaire Richard Bloch, who believed that his "positive mental attitude" defeated his cancer. Two dozen of these nearly-identical plazas are in cities across the U.S. and Canada, although each is slightly different.
