Boulder Junction, Wisconsin - Shrimp's Museum - Vague Recollections

About 25 years ago, while on family vacation, we stopped at a site described by many locals as a "MUST SEE." What it turned out to be was a MUST SEE TO BE BELIEVED. The 'attraction' was a place called SHRIMP'S MUSEUM - Shrimp being the owner's family name. This 'museum' was a tremendously twisted -- and somewhat creepy -- collection of stuffed mammals, dressed, posed and staged in various settings (ie., cowboy squirrels, Rock-n-Roll moles, etc.) all incredibly un-maintained. They were dusty, decaying little glimpses into taxidermist hell - A MUST SEE!...If it's still there. Near as we can remember, it was just outside Boulder Junction. [Susan McMorris, 05/20/2000]

[RA: Craig Thom was hoping to visit, but received this response from the local Chamber of Commerce -- "Shrimps was sold many years ago. Newer owners sold or got rid of many of the mounts. It is now a bar, north of BJ on Hwy M called A-1 Sports Bar. They have a few mounts in the bar and back hall, but not nearly as many as years ago."]
