About 25 years ago, while on family vacation, we stopped at a site described by many locals as a "MUST SEE." What it turned out to be was a MUST SEE TO BE BELIEVED. The 'attraction' was a place called SHRIMP'S MUSEUM - Shrimp being the owner's family name. This 'museum' was a tremendously twisted -- and somewhat creepy -- collection of stuffed mammals, dressed, posed and staged in various settings (ie., cowboy squirrels, Rock-n-Roll moles, etc.) all incredibly un-maintained. They were dusty, decaying little glimpses into taxidermist hell - A MUST SEE!...If it's still there. Near as we can remember, it was just outside Boulder Junction.

Craig Thom was hoping to visit, but received this response from the local Chamber of Commerce -- "Shrimps was sold many years ago. Newer owners sold or got rid of many of the mounts. It is now a bar, north of BJ on Hwy M called A-1 Sports Bar. They have a few mounts in the bar and back hall, but not nearly as many as years ago."
