Jell-O Museum
What a fun place. Lots of Jell-O related memorabilia: Old Jell-O TV commercials play on a TV they have set up, original paintings from print ads from back in the '20s and '30s. There is even an old "gelometer" to view, a device that measures the gel quality of the gelatin.
In the basement of the building is an exhibit of old sleighs, carts, bikes and an old Cadillac. Great gift shop, too.
The house next door was owned by one of the founding fathers of Le Roy, NY and you can tour it too! This stop was well worth the two hours we visited!

The museum has only a small sign marking the entrance, so you have to watch carefully for it. Follow the sign around back to find parking. We only had time for a quick visit (arrived 10 minutes before closing). But there were a number of really neat parts to the exhibit that I wish we'd had more time to review.
Still no Jell-O for sale in the gift shop though!

This is the Mecca for Jell-O lovers. It's a well done museum displaying the history of Jell-O. Molds, toys, baseball cards, cookbooks, etc. promoting Jell-O. In the back they have a TV playing all the old Jello commercials. They really like Bill Cosby. Oddly enough, the gift shop had no Jell-O to buy.
[Mark Moriarty, 07/29/2005]Museum provides entire history of Jell-o Gelatin, which was manufactured in LeRoy from 1900 to 1964. Displays feature advertising themes of the past and present. Also Jell-o trivia: Lime Jell-o is the #1 dessert in Utah and has been named the official dessert of the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics.
[Charles E. Walker, 07/01/2001]Everything you ever wanted to know about Jello -- including the very odd fact that Jello and the human brain show similar wave patterns on an EEG (An even odder fact is that anyone thought to test this in the first place).
There are some good interactive exhibits, including some for kids; an extensive collection of Jello memorabilia and ephemera; and really cool Jello-related souvenirs and gifts (the refrigerator magnets and Jello-colored tee-shirts are dynamite). Le Roy is also a charming little town with great turn-of-the-century architecture, and a nice old converted railway station where you can get a good lunch or dinner.
