The Red Rooster continues to keep watch in rural Kentucky, just down the road from the Jim Beam distillery in Clermont, KY. This is a quaint country store with gas pumps that is about halfway between Bardstown (Bourbon Whiskey Capital of the World and Clermont, where the sweet smell of bourbon billows through the country air. Jack Kerouac made the place famous.). There is no actual community there, but the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has placed it on its official highway maps in order to support the tradition and economy.
Apparently the Arizona-based rock band The Earps recorded a song called "Rooster Run" that was supposedly inspired by this Kentucky landmark.
