Tallest Totem Pole East of the Rockies I am from Abingdon, IL. On the Main Street boulevard uptown stands the
tallest totem pole east of the Rocky Mountains. Although not built by
native Americans (but by townspeople in the 70s), the totem pole is

An art student from Illinois State University, I believe, was hired to complete the task. Unfortunately, a taller one was built in Canada not too long after, hence the title, Tallest Totem Pole East of the Rockies. "]
