Muffler Man
The muffler man in front of Boyd Tire Co. is alive and well. He is in beautiful shape with a great paint job. He is 5 minutes from Hartsfield Jackson Airport. I took a taxi to get there. It was about $15.00. He is worth the trip.

You already have this muffler man in your database, but he's been painted since your 1997 photo, and it seems you only have a thumbnail of him. Too bad it was raining, but here's a decent size picture.
[Joe Bays, 02/07/2007]I would just like to say that....YES, there IS a Muffler Man alive and well in E.Point. I grew up in that area. The road he's on used to be a busy road that entered into the "old" Hartfield Airport (ATL). The road is less traveled now, but he's still live and kicking. He holds a tire in his hand. I believe it's Butler Tire Co.
[michele, 08/04/2001]Atlanta's own muffler man, though I suppose from the looks of him, he's masquerading as a Paul Bunyan with some sort of prosthetic device to help him hold up that tire. He can be found outside a tire(!) store near the airport, just off I-85. If you look closely enough, his head is actually visible from the highway, peering out between the overpasses and overseeing the many fenderbenders he causes from people like me looking closely enough.
