The Equality House

Very cool spot. Caution, road work is going on at the corner. The road is closed going out. We travel in an RV and had to disconnect our tow car since we cannot back up with it attached. Nice neighbors asked if we needed help!

It's a nice stop, especially because they have a lending library, and two houses now have been painted.

Our country needs this now more than ever. Take time to stop and view this remarkably brave, courageous statement against hatred, ignorance and bigotry. It's absolutely beautiful.

A bulwark against the neighboring Westboro "God Hates Fags" Baptist Church.

It's worth getting off the interstate for. The home proudly boasts the American flag and rainbow flag right side up and stands strongly facing an organization with hateful messages plastered on its signs and the American flag and rainbow flag upside down. There's a donation box in the yard if you would like to contribute.

It is important to note some of the streets are one-way but did not appear clearly marked until I was driving the wrong way. So keep an eye out for that!

Also known as the Pride House. Aaron Jackson moved to Topeka either earlier this year after learning about our most famous residents, the Westboro Baptist Church. In peaceful protest to their actions, he bought a house across from theirs and painted it in rainbow. Earlier this year, I believe, a couple held a commitment ceremony in the yard. It's really beautiful and has a sign to invite visitors to take photos in the yard!

Westboro Baptist Church is infamous for its "God hates fags" campaign.
