Rivire-du-Loup, Quebec, Canada: Loupi the Giant Bear (Gone)
Loupi stands about 15 feet tall and is outfitted for Canadian weather with a hat, jacket, and big boots. Friendly looking, but not a cartoon bear. Has his own parklike photo-op area.
- Directions:
- Hwy 20 exit 507. Drive east on Hwy 132. Cross over the little bridge, then make first left onto Rue de l'Ancrage. Drive a half-mile. You'll see the red-roofed Motel Loupi on the right; the bear is just past it.

We couldn't find Loupi so we asked about him in the Motel Loupi. Unfortunately, Loupi was smashed by several falling trees last winter and is no longer there. They have no plans to replace him.
