Robert Wadlow Shoes We were excited to see these huge shoes. Unfortunately, it was a big let-down. My girlfriend and I felt super awkward being in the shop as they did not seem to welcome tourists on a sight-seeing adventure. The shoes are also poorly displayed - we couldn't get awesome cheesy roadside attraction pictures with them. [Mary M., 08/22/2011]
Robert Wadlow Shoes, Toy Train Table Service A pair of these goliath gun boats can be found at the Square Deal Shoestore in Des Plaines (just two blocks from the McDonald's museum). Wadlow was 15 years old when they were left as partial payment for making him a new pair. These super sized slippers are size 26 and one of the guys who was there when Wadlow was in town stills works in the shop. Bonus tip: Around the corner is the ChooChoo Restaurant where your food comes out on a toy train. It's been around since the 1950s.
