Courthouse dome.

The Courthouse Dome

The courthouse along with most of downtown Bloomington burned to the ground in the great fire of 1900. The iron framework of the dome of the courthouse was salvaged and moved to Miller Park. It was covered with a wire screen and served as a "cage" for park's zoo animals. The dome remains a feature of Miller Park, and now stands east of the pavilion and the zoo.
