Roselle, Illinois: Pharmacy Museum in a Drug Store
A small but interesting collection of bottles and unsettling devices used by our ancestors to restore them to better health. Maybe.

Pharmacy Museum in a Drug Store
My wife and I stepped into Mark Drug Pharmacy and Home Health hoping to find a replacement part for a busted piece of medical equipment. Instead we found a pharmaceutical time machine. Inside the store was a small (but impressive) museum of the drugs and devices that our great-grandparents used to torture themselves back into good health. My favorites were the "Pair of Civil War Crutches (ca. 1864)," "Leg Brace (ca. 1920) Used During Polio Epidemic," and the "No. 4 DD Home Medical Apparatus. Electrodes are used to send charge through body to cure diseases via 'Electropathic Medicine' (ca. 1900)."
