Calafia is an eight-ton 14-ft. tall statue decorated with gourds, sunflowers, and corn, meant to celebrate the city's agricultural heritage. She's been in Turlock since 2005, despite efforts by some business owners to get rid of her.

Califia is a beloved statue in downtown Turlock that represents the true history of the land on which it stands. Turlock needs art that represents all of its inhabitants and not just those who have colonized, gentrified, etc.
