Buffalo at Loretta Lynn's Kitchen

We stopped for a quick bite and to take a picture with the buffalo. However, we were very disappointed. The restaurant is not taking care of the buffalo and it is showing some weather damage. Also, the Loretta Lynn display inside is blocked by a large group table. My wife and I tried looking at the display but felt bad for disturbing the large group that was eating.

Red-Eyed Buffalo

Loretta Lynn does not own Loretta Lynn's Kitchen restaurant, but her presence is definitely felt. The red-eyed buffalo -- really more orange than red -- still stands out front and is a classic roadside giant. Inside, in addition to the restaurant, there is a nice (and free) homage to the Queen of Country Music. Walls are lined with signed photos of "Friends of Loretta," there is a tableau of her on stage in one of the dining rooms, and there's a big selection of Loretta-themed items and clothing in the gift shop. The restaurant is a Southern Style Buffet and they claim to have the best meat loaf in town.

No evidence of Loretta behind the cash register or drink station...bummer.

Country cooking restaurant and buffet. We had the dinner buffet, and the food was good. There is a lot of memorabilia hanging on the walls, and a gift shop with lots of souvenirs. There is a big buffalo out front with red eyes. Lots of old things, like an old phone booth, on the front porch of the restaurant.
