Visitor Tips and News About Muffler Man - Kevin
Here is a recent view of the Van Nuys Muffler Man.[J. Ozwald Graves, 04/30/2006]
Made the trip out to visit the Van Nuys Muffler Man and discovered that, due to the semi-recent face-lift, he looks a little different from the photo shown on your web site. My wife asked the owner, Kevin, and found that the Van Nuys Guy's name is also "Kevin" due to the fact that Kevin, the owner, sort of looks like a Muffler Man himself. The new name of the business is Tune-Up Masters.[J. Ozwald Graves, 01/19/2005]
New tenants moved into the shop on Sherman Way. They decided to paint the building, and even painted the muffler man to match. It's painted clean shaven this time.[Mike Frankovich, 07/09/2001]
He's been there 20 years at least, possibly many more. At 15237 Sherman Way in the San Fernando Valley stands a Bunyan-esque Muffler Man, shod in lace-up work boots, wearing a white shirt, faded dungarees and a red stocking cap. He has a black beard and arms in the tell-tale position. What is now a tune-up shop was once a tire store, and said Muffler Man held a tire in the downturned hand and wore a white-walled bracelet on the upturned hand. The tires are long gone, as are several other Valley Muffler Men.[Claudie Bee, 06/17/1997]
