Giant Chicken replaces Floating Shark Head
The shark is missing... Giant Chicken is there instead!
[Johnny B, 08/24/2016]Colonel Crackers [the big Goldfish Cracker] and the shark are temporary exhibits for the annual One Spark arts festival in Jacksonville. While Sgt. Quackers (the initial floating statue of a rubber duck) still does his service at University of Florida, the others cannot be guaranteed to be in Hemming Plaza for any length of time. They will, however, allegedly be found at various locations in Jacksonville after One Spark; the shark seems to be taking his time finding a new home.
[Prof. ~.a.~, 05/30/2015]Goldfish Cracker Replaced by Shark
YIKES! I was on a mission, strolling through the busy and beautiful Hemming Park, searching for the fountain that is home of the soggy cracker. However, to my surprise (and disappointment), "Colonel Crackers" has been replaced by a large hungry-looking Great White Shark! Maybe the shark ate the cracker? I also enjoyed seeing many colorful trees that were attacked by a "Yarn Bomber," and a creative Mosaic figure near the shark pond.
[Barb Paton, 05/15/2015]The giant floating goldfish cracker was replaced by the eight-foot-tall shark head in April 2015. No word on the resting place of Sgt. Quackers.
World's Largest Floating Goldfish Cracker
You can find this floating oddity in the pool of fountains in the square between City Hall and the Museum of Contemporary Art of Jacksonville. People push it around, but it's not for riding.
It's similar to Sgt Quackers -- is it possible he's been promoted to Admiral Crackers?
[Beth Demme, 06/09/2014]We are informed that though he's in water, his rank is Colonel.

Last we heard, the Goldfish Cracker was missing and the duck was floating in a pond outside a car wash on the south side of Jacksonville.
