Though interior equipment is unmolested, this ghost town nuclear power plant was completed in 1984 and never really operated. Was shut down by local opposition, decommissioned by 1994, nuclear material sent elsewhere. Visible from several public vantage points.

[Kathy B., 08/09/2015]Shoreham Nuclear Power station never officially opened for full power and was closed due to public protests. Still visible across creek from Wading River. Can still see the containment vessel and outbuildings, although core was removed many years ago.
