Arkdale, Wisconsin: Foul Ball Humpty Dumpty

There he is. Freshly painted!

I went way out of my way to see this. Totally not there anymore.

A Humpty Dumpty statue sits behind home plate at the baseball diamond adjacent to the Strong's Prairie Town Hall. As a sign dictates, if a batter beans Humpty with a foul ball, he/she gets a free drink. Humpty is large enough to be visible from Wisconsin 21 (my mother-in-law Barb, an avid Roadside America follower, competes with her sisters for the most pictures of larger-than-life statues. This won't be the last you've heard from us!).

My 3 year old son was playing on a nearby play structure when a nest of wasps descended upon him! He escaped unscathed, however anyone visiting should be cautious of the play equipment.

Side note: A few miles west on 21 is a homemade, medium-sized Muskie hanging from a Citgo sign. The Citgo is owned by a Polish entrepreneur who ships in polish candy and other delicacies from a Chicago-based company. They also have an in-house Polish butcher and serve homemade polish sausage.
