Two Egg, Florida: Town With Unusual Name

An interesting little town with an interesting history. Sadly, the building that once was the Lawrence Grocery Store continues its rapid decay and appears to have limited time left.

Several signs remain on thoroughfares leading into town, making for excellent photo opportunities.

Really small town. There are three different signs that say "Two Egg," so you can get a picture to prove you were there -- but there isn't a single store, which is a shame because we were hoping to buy a souvenir. There was a shack that looked like it might have been the general store mentioned by an earlier tipster, but it looked permanently closed.

Two Egg, Florida is a small (very small) town in northwest Florida, with a very unusual name. It has a general store and not much else. I believe the store sells hats, shirts and oil paintings of the general store. The sign for Two Egg has been stolen many times. There are many different stories about how Two Egg got its name. Two Egg is just a few miles away from the town of Sneads, the birthplace of T. Thomas Fortune.
