Claverack, New York - Huge stone Mohawk Indian head As you drive north on the Taconic Parkway around the
Claverack exit, there is a huge stone bust of a Mohawk Indian sitting atop a hill next to a piece of modern sculpture and in the vicinity of what looks to be a field stone house. It has been there for many years. I have only driven past it while on the parkway. I always assumed it was an artist's property, but it's kind of weird to have the things that are on the hill displayed the way they
are. The sculpture must be unbelievably large up close to appear so big
from the road.
