A convergence of indigenous symbols of America -- the teepee, the buffalo, the pumpkin. The first two stand at an Indian souvenir shop in St. Elmo. The pumpkin is north of Vandalia.

Indian Teepees, Buffalo, Pumpkin On U.S. 51, there's an Indian souvenir shop near Vandalia, featuring a couple of tepees and a giant concrete buffalo ... and two Indian blankets for $8, if you're looking for a cheap souvenir. It's at I-55 and 51. Up the road from that, I believe somewhere between Vandalia and Pana is a giant concrete pumpkin. Not spectacular, but might as well have a look if you're up that way.
