You know Route 66 is popular when people build Route 66 tributes that are nowhere near Route 66. This is a replica of the 1929 Route 66 gas station in McLean, Texas, built by Route 66 fans James and Bernice Shively.

- Directions:
- From US Hwy 220, exit onto Hwy 40 at Rocky Mount. Follow Hwy 40 west, through town (many turns), for a total of eight miles. On the left youll see a sign for Coys Custom Cabinets. Turn left into the parking lot and you'll see the little gas station set back from the highway.
