The outdoor scenes on "Gilligan's Island" were filmed on a little island in
Echo Park in Los Angeles. I went there in 1980 and intended to cross the
little arched bridge so I could walk on the same ground trod by Gilligan
and his friends. Alas, sinister looking men were on the island eyeing the
obvious tourist, otherwise known as prey, who suddenly lost interest in
seeing the island up close. It's the only time I ever got a picture of
people who were planning to mug me.
