Grave in the Middle of the Road

I drove by and paid my respects. Pulled the car over, turned it off; it was so peaceful and quiet. The aroma in the air was beautiful. What a unique place to be buried.

You probably figured this out yourself, but we suggest dropping off a designated photographer, driving to a spot where you can turn around, then driving back for a quick pick-up.

Grave in the Middle of the Road

The grave was temporarily moved to make improvements to road in June of 2016. Archaeologists found -- as they sifted through the remains -- the bones of two women, one man, and four children. Improvements were made to the grave to protect it as there were many accidents here before doing so. Nancy Barnett and the other six remains were then returned to their resting place.

Be very careful as there is no place to park. I hopped out while my husband turned the car around. Was able to snap a few pix. Plenty of pennies adorn the marker area.
