Cy Young's Grave
Baseball pitcher Cy Young is claimed by the town of Newcomerstown as their favorite son, but he was actually born about ten miles away in the smaller town of Gilmore, and is buried about ten miles further away in the even smaller town of Peoli. His grave is rather plain, but it includes a baseball with wings in bas-relief. It is located north of the main driveway through the cemetery, and just east of the church. It is common for visitors to leave baseball hats, gloves, and other trinkets at the gravesite.
