Lakeland, Florida: Tributes to Blinky, Town Alligator
Blinky was an unusually friendly one-eyed gator who won the hearts of Lakeland in the 1970s before being killed by a crocodile. A mecha-Blinky made of mechanical junk sits in one of his favorite sunning spots, and a traditional Blinky statue sits in the town's outdoor kiddie splash pad.

- Mecha-Blinky is on the north side of Lake Mirror, on the north side of Lake Mirror Drive, in the grass just to the left of the Amtrak station. Traditional Blinky is on the south side of Lake Mirror, on the north side of E. Orange St., in the splash pad area just north of the colorful playground.

I am not sure when it happened, but when I moved to Lakeland, Florida the Autumn of 2017, Blinky was no longer in Barnet Park.

Traditional Blinky is in Barnett Family Park. If you look closely, you can see the statue only has one eye.

Very neat sculpture made from mechanical bits and pieces. Great photo op for the kids (but some sharp rusty edges). Blinky is next to the Lakeland Amtrak station.
