LaPorte, Indiana - Torture and Execution Device Display

I am from La Porte and I know where this building/house is. The property sits in front of my buddy's largest 12-inch steam railroad in the US, called Paradise Railroad. The property of the privately owned railroad actually runs right behind this guy's house -- he has his own little amusement park, with very old rides, and has his weird devices in various buildings. I was in LaPorte, Indiana about a year ago when I had the pleasure of seeing a collection of various torture/execution devices. He had some interesting life-sized models, an Iron Maiden, gallows, a huge kettle for boiling someone in tar, and a bed of nails. When I was there he had completed an electric chair and was in the process of actually running power to it. Hopefully someone can provide a more accurate location for you. [sunney, 03/13/1998]
