Cenotaph of Chief Comcomly

There is a very tall grave marker in a cemetery just east of Astoria, Oregon. It is a large statue commemorating the Comcomly tribe of the Clatsop Indians.

[Dan, 03/31/2015]

The chief wears a tall feathered headdress and carries a hatchet. His symbolic burial canoe monument is a few miles north, next to the towering Astoria Column. He may be buried in the cemetery, or beneath the canoe, or maybe somewhere else.
