Directions:
From US Hwy 81 (either ten miles north of Minneapolis or six miles south of US Hwy 24) turn west onto Hwy 41 and drive a little over five miles into town. Turn left (south) onto Main St., drive three blocks, then turn right onto 2nd St. The Monument is one block west, and the Museum is one block south of the Monument.

M, F 9 am - noon; T, Th noon - 4 pm; Sa 9 am - noon, 1-4pm. (Call to verify) Local health policies may affect hours and access.

That "Grow a Beard, Abe!" Town

Monument to the woman who, as a girl, got Lincoln to grow a beard. Delphos has also had visits from a UFO and a Wolf Girl, but you have to ask about them at the Delphos Museum.

That "Grow a Beard, Abe!" Town

The monument is on the northwest corner of the square, with parking all around the square. Abe Lincoln's response letter to Grace is engraved on the side of the monument.

Grow a Beard, Abe! - Lincoln's Little Girl

Stop by Delphos and see the monument in the town square dedicated to Grace Bedell Billings. She was the little girl who wrote to Abe Lincoln, suggesting he grow a beard. The monument has bronze reproductions of her letter to Lincoln and his reply to her.
