Ruins of Old Fort Pearce
Fort Pearce was built in 1865 to protect pioneers that were attempting to settle lands that the Ute considered to be their home. The Fort overlooked a steep canyon that had one of the few springs in the area. The Fort was occupied until 1873, but as never attacked. It is one of only three surviving forts from Utah's Black Hawk War.
