Visitor Tips and News About Queen Mary - Haunted Encounters Tour
I have been all over the Queen Mary many times, and also have been involved in a few ghosts hunts, including one that was featured on Celebrity Ghost Stories. I always suggest to people to stay on board the ship, because you have access to many areas. It is one of my favorite places.
The Queen Mary was used as a set for many films, including Chaplin, SOS Titanic, and was the inspiration for the SS Poseidon used in the original Poseidon Adventure. The actual model of the SS Poseidon is nearby in San Pedro in the Maritime Museum.[Gene Murrell, 07/02/2014]
My husband used to be a tour guide for the Ghost & Legends Tour that is not meant to be scary, just hokey and fun. That tour is 35 minutes long. There used to be special effects 10+ years or more ago but the ship has gone through a lot of owners thru the years and the funds have not helped to improve what has broken down on that tour.

During December they decorate the ship to show off its beauty.[Monica Threadgold, 05/23/2013]

The Queen is worth a trip on her own. The views, the observation deck bar, the architecture and decor is fantastic The haunted tour? Not so much. Even though the ship has honest-to-goodness real ghost stories, the tour feel totally phony and has no real connection to the ship's history. It feels like a fourth-rate amusement park.[Raphael, 07/29/2010]
