York, South Carolina: Scrap Steel DinosaursT-Rex was built in 2015 by Pete Kohman on his rural front lawn, made of steel from his scrapped above-ground swimming pool. 12 feet tall, 28 feet long. Also a pterodactyl.

- From US 321 downtown, turn east at the stoplight onto Hwy 161/Old York Rd. Drive east four miles. Turn right onto Ernest Rd. Drive a half-mile. At the first intersection you'll see the T-rex on the right.

We drove to York just to check out the awesome T-Rex. Either he's excellent at hiding or he isn't there anymore. The pterodactyl is still visible.[Strange Carolinas, 02/27/2017]
