After 44 years in business, the Schmidt Museum of Coca-Cola Memorabilia closed without warning on April 27, 2011. The entire collection of some 80,000 items -- including a Coke ad painted on the side of a barn -- will be sold at a series of auctions over the next several years. Plans for the closing had apparently been underway for years.
