DuPage Heritage Gallery

The DuPage Heritage Gallery is a small "museum" of famous people who have some connection to DuPage County. The gallery is in the county administration building, so there are, of course, displays on captains of industry: Elbert H. Gary (chairman of U.S. Steel), Robert R. McCormick (publisher of the Chicago Tribune), and Joy Morton (of Morton Salt). However, less captain-y notables are also included, such as Edwin P. Hubble (who discovered that the universe is expanding), Billy Graham (evangelist to the Presidents), Grote Reber (builder of the first parabolic radio telescope), Sherrill Milnes (opera star), and Margaret Landon (author of "Anna and the King of Siam").

I would have liked to have seen former DuPage County resident John Belushi included, but dying at age 33 of a drug overdose probably reduced his chances of being part of a county government-sponsored Hall of Fame.
