Needville, Texas: Alligators Roam Free
Wetlands in a state park provide Texans a convenient live encounter with alligators. Stay back at least 30 feet, and don't entice them with dogs or toddlers.

Alligators Roam Free
I visited Brazos Bend State Park on June 18, 2020.
[Patsy Lewis, 06/21/2020]Brazos Bend State Park has marshes and wetlands full of alligators, birds, and wildlife. There are no barriers between alligators and visitors. Houstonians live within an hour of seeing live alligators on the trail, with only trail dust between you and them.
There is also an observatory open to public for stargazing on Saturday nights.
