Coastal Gun Bunker Library

Old Spanish-American War coastal defense bunker no longer houses cannons, but instead has been converted to a modern library honoring Edgar Allan Poe, who was stationed at Fort Moultrie during his military years.

[Jody High, 04/28/2016]

Its books are well-protected inside two-foot-thick walls of concrete and steel. The former coastal gun bunker was converted into a library in 1977.
