This is a great little museum, lots of local history. It was described here as "Thrills too grim for southern Florida, but not for the South." Not so! We were looking for the promised thrills, but there was nothing at the museum about the old jail except one lock and chain. When I inquired about the "Jail Museum" the attendant barely knew the building had once housed the jail. Please visit if you like local history, but not if your interest is jails.[Linda Mc, 07/06/2014]
We're as disappointed as you that the museum inside the old jail downplays its history, which really was grim.
